Built to push the limits of trail racing, the ASICS METAFUJI™ TRAIL 2 is the brand's most advanced trail racing shoe yet. Engineered for speed across technical terrain, it combines cutting-edge cushioning with an updated carbon plate design to help runners move efficiently, confidently and comfortably from steep climbs to fast descents.

At the heart of the shoe is a newly developed trail-specific carbon plate featuring an innovative X-shaped construction. Designed to maximise propulsion on uphill sections while maintaining stability and control on descents, the plate works seamlessly with the dual-foam midsole to deliver a fast, smooth and highly responsive ride.

The midsole pairs FF LEAP™, ASICS' lightest and most energetic foam, with FF BLAST™ PLUS cushioning beneath the carbon plate for an ideal balance of lightweight comfort, protection and energy return. Together, these technologies help reduce fatigue and maintain efficiency over long distances and demanding trails.

Underfoot, the ASICSGRIP™ outsole with 3.5 mm lugs provides reliable traction across a wide variety of trail surfaces, while the SOLYTE™ sockliner enhances step-in comfort for all-day performance.

Developed in close collaboration with elite ASICS trail athletes Tom Evans and Ben Dhiman, the METAFUJI™ TRAIL 2 has already proven itself at the highest level of competition. Prototype versions helped secure a memorable one-two finish at a major trail running event in Chamonix in 2025, with athlete feedback playing a vital role in refining the final production model.
