NIKE ZoomX Ultrafly Trail
Carbon Flyplate Meets Nike's ZoomX Midsole
Women's Nike ZoomX Ultrafly Trail
This shoe was built for one thing and one thing only; running trails fast. This is the fastest trail shoe in the Nike quiver. It's pedigree comes from the famous Vaporfly Next% made famous in Nike's Breaking2 project.
If you want to win Salida's famous Spiral Drive Run, the Run Through Time Marathon and or run the last 40 miles of the Leadville 100 Trail Race like your life depends on it, this is the shoe for you. Wherever there is smooth/manicured trail the Women's Nike ZoomX Ultrafly Trail will excel and it proved it's worth taking 2 of the 3 top spots at the Western States 100 in 2023. The combination of ZoomX midsole and Carbon Flyplate is a match made in heaven for those looking to leave it all on the trails.
Vibram® Litebase Megagrip
For the first time Nike placed a full rubber Vibram® Litebase Megagrip outsole onto the Men's Ultrafly. The 3.5 mm lug pattern ensures excellent traction at high speeds on wet and variable terrain. 37 lugs are situated to ensure smooth transitions from the footstrike through the toe off while ensuring proper grip when needed. The Vibram® Litebase is reduces the overall outsole weight by 30% and is thinner allowing unihibited propulsion during the toe-off.
Carbon FlyPlate
Situated between the Vibram Litebase outsole and ZoomX midsole this is rocket fuel powering the Men's Nike Ultrafly. Compared to Carbon Flyplates in the Vaporfly and Alphafly this plate is more flexible providing excellent stability over variable terrain and allows for a large degree of toe off velocities to maintain efficiency over ever changing trail surfaces.
ZoomX Midsole
Nike's supercritical PEBAX foam is the softest, lightest and most responsive foam made by Nike. The foam's 85% energy return coupled with its cushioning means runners will be set up for comfort and speed for ultra distances up to 100 miles. ZoomX plus Carbon Flyplate is a reciepe for success on race day.
Vaporweave Upper
The fit of the Vaporweave upper is spacious in the forefoot compared to other Nike Trail styles. The mesh isn't strechy which is beneficial over the course of an ultra marathon but it is flexible throughout the foot strike and toeoff phases. Overall the feel is comfortable while remaining ligthweight and breathable. The midfoot and heel are secure but aren't a low volume fit.
