Description

The Men's Altra Running Lone Peak 5.0 is the 9th edition of Lone Peak lineup. God we're getting old.

The Lone Peak is probably the most liked trail runner in the world while also being the most complained about shoe ever. 7000 Feet has watched people run and hike this shoe on the Continental Divide Trail 1000 miles and have seen people rip off the toe bumper in 10 miles.

For what it's worth the new Altra Running overlords (owners) VF Outdoors have made the Lone Peak 5.0 significantly more durable than the previous garbage created by Icon Health and Fitness. Remember folks your Lone Peak 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5 were trash because Icon thought producing treadmills meant they understood how to produce footwear¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Test

The Men's Lone Peak 5.0 has Altra's "Original" last that a bunch of old heads will claim is more narrow than the originals even though that was 9 years ago and their foot has probably changed too. God forbid you got older and your body changed.

You pretty much know what you're getting into with this shoe. No arch, zero drop, high volume from forefoot to heel and a shoe that could possibly break down before 300 miles or go 500 plus. This shoe is like gambling and based on the sales people are addicted to it.

Anyway, here it is on sale cause they released a Lone Peak 6 that's basically the same shoe but costs $45 more.
